Spring 2019 News & Notes - SMARTMD Spring 2019 News & Notes - SMARTMD

Spring has sprung here in New York and we couldn’t be more excited about SMARTMD’s crop of new features for doctors and medical professionals who see patients outside their office. A number of features support the unique needs of hospice, palliative care, and in home primary care programs.

Whether stand-alone or alongside your existing system, SMARTMD can help your team handle everything from referral management to scheduling and forms to billing, giving you more time to spend on what really matters, your patients.

Nandip Kothari, CEO, SMARTMD

I ran into an old friend and SMARTMD champion at the AAHPM Annual Assembly in Florida —Dr. Janet Bull. As the past president of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, she was in attendance to pass the baton to the new leadership. It’s hard to believe we’ve been working with Janet since 2008!

Besides meeting old friends, I learned about exciting trends including deprescribing, end of life doulas, Project Echo, and social media’s role in hospice care. Checkout my “highlights from the show” blog. And if you haven’t done so already, register to attend the next AAHPM event!

As a mobile provider, you can’t always set aside office time to review and sign reports, even though you know how important they are to the revenue cycle and to making referring physicians happy.

A few months ago, we introduced a new web app to view, edit, sign, and fax reports which works from your web browser. This month, we’ve integrated that feature inside our popular app for iPhone & iPad.

So, if you haven’t already downloaded the SMARTMD app on your phone, here are a few more reasons why you should:

  • Simpler – review and sign reports from the same app you use to dictate
  • Saves time – no downloading or uploading; just click to open and start editing
  • Less to remember – the fax list is pre-populated based on past history
  • Lower cost – does not require Microsoft Word license
  • More secure – login with your fingerprint or face ID
